The Annenberg (learner.org) website will have many online videos about learning and teaching including how to teach a particular academic subject at the elementary, middle or secondary grade level.  You many want to view some of these. Be sure to cite any ideas from these videos that you include in your lessons.

ONLINE VIDEOS

• Discovery Education Streaming (formerly Unitedstreaming) Videos, videoclips and still images for K-12 students viewable online with teaching suggestions for many of the videos.  Quality of titles varies.  Social Studies titles should be carefully evaluated for balanced and up-to-date coverage of a topic. Note: SUNY Geneseo subscribes to this database; when you are teaching you may obtain a FREE account from local PBS station (check details in your school for this Video On Demand service)

PBS/WXXI (Thinkbright) Many different services for teachers including broadcast TV programs, lesson plans, streaming video-on-demand (many resources in PBS/WXXI video-on-demand are from Discovery Education Streaming which is available to SUNY Geneseo students through our library's subscription--see link above). Regents Review videos are also on this site.

IN SCHOOL AND PUBLIC LIBRARIES

Rochester Area Regional Catalog (ROARing CAT)  Especially useful for locating materials in regional school and public libraries. Also includes area colleges and special libraries. Not quite as up to date as specific library catalogs but still very useful.
