BIBLIOGRAPHIES OF INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS

Why use bibliographies?

·        Bibliographies often index a children's/young adult book under more topics than it may be indexed under in a library catalog.

·        Bibliographies usually indicate recommended grade levels for children’s/young adults’ books.

·        Bibliographies list and describe items that our libraries may or may not own. This expands the number of resources you may find on your topic. If you find an item listed in a bibliography, look up title of item in our library catalog If we don't own an item, consider borrowing it (books only) through Information Delivery Services (formerly Interlibrary Loan).

·        Most bibliographies identify books recommended for their quality; some include reviews (exception: Children’s Books in Print attempts to list all books currently available from publishers – it is not evaluative)
