HOW TO SEARCH THE SUNY GENESEO LIBRARY ONLINE CATALOG (GLOCAT)

A basic search allows you to enter any keywords of your choice or select search terms from  alphabetical browsing lists of terms used in our library catalog that include cross-references to related terms. There are separate browsing lists for authors, titles, series, publishers, call numbers and subject headings.

An advanced search allows you to enter more search terms and more types of searches including searches for materials in a specific media format (for example, videotapes, dvds or children’s books) and/or searches by publication year(s), languages or special collection (Juvenile/Young Adult Collection, Genesee Valley Collection, etc.).

For more ways to search than are indicated in these introductory instructions, explore options on the ‘live’ library catalog screens, see Help option within ‘live’ library catalog or ask a librarian.
