HOW TO SEARCH THE SUNY GENESEO LIBRARY
ONLINE CATALOG (GLOCAT)
A basic search
allows you to enter any keywords of your choice or select search terms from alphabetical browsing lists of terms used in
our library catalog that include cross-references to related terms. There are
separate browsing lists for authors, titles, series, publishers, call numbers
and subject headings.
An advanced search
allows you to enter more search terms and more types of searches including
searches for materials in a specific media format (for example, videotapes, dvds or children’s books) and/or searches by publication
year(s), languages or special collection (Juvenile/Young Adult Collection,
Genesee Valley Collection, etc.).

instructions, explore options on the ‘live’ library catalog screens, see Help option within ‘live’
library catalog or ask
a librarian.

← Optional: Use *asterisk after root of word to find all words
with same initial letters, for example, behavior* will find behavior,
