Step 2 . Obtain lesson information (content, strategies, student materials) from appropriate resources:
- NYSED publications contain long-term goals (Learning Standards) for each academic subject, an outline of content understandings for each subject at each grade level (Core Curriculum), sample teaching strategies and/or lesson and unit plans (Resource Guide and other NYSED publications for each subject ).
- School textbooks, manipulatives, teaching handbooks, compact discs, videos, pictures, software and primary source documents may provide more detailed content information, teaching strategies, classroom activities, assessment methods. Also see juvenile/young adult books for content and pictures.
